I thought I’d announce some good news by offering you a chance to learn from it! I recently received a promotion at work – I am now the program manager of my company’s diverse employee resource groups. We have groups for women, Black people, Hispanic/Latino people, Asian people, and LGBT people, and I will be helping them with everything from strategic development to event planning and communication.
Many of you know I am passionate about education and my work in corporate training fit me well as a result, but I am now very excited to incorporate my other passion in my work – community building! Each and every day, I will help the employees of my company build better communities for networking, professional development, and perhaps most important of all, friendship and understanding.
So with this good news comes your learning! I have one simple question for you in the spirit of my recent promotion…
How can you build a better community at work?
I’d love to hear some of your answers; so, feel free to post here. I wish you all the best in investing in your community at work!
